Project Management Part 1: Plans That Actually Get Used (4 modules)

Project management skills and strategies are useful in all kinds of situations, not just formal projects. This first of four online courses in the Library Journal Project Management Certification will help you understand and apply project management as a mindset that will help the way you approach all kinds of challenges. This course will teach you different methods for how to initiate, plan, and organize projects so that you stay on track and budget. Leave with an understanding of the foundations of project management in a library context to ensure that your future projects are set up for success.

 

Project Management Part 2: Getting Projects Over the Finish Line (4 modules)

Project management skills and strategies are useful in all kinds of situations, not just formal projects. This second of four online courses in the Library Journal Project Management Certification will help you execute, monitor, and control your projects once they’re off the ground. This course will focus on monitoring project progress, managing change and risk, and communicating project status. Leave knowing how to establish a communication plan, document a project and track its progress, manage quality control and changes, and control the project to meet your goals.

 

Project Management Part 3: Teamwork That Won't Make You Pull Your Hair Out (2 modules)

Project management skills and strategies are useful in all kinds of situations, not just formal projects. This third of four online courses in the Library Journal Project Management Certification will help you support and work with all the people involved on your project team. This course will teach you practical tips for how to manage and lead teams and stakeholders, how to conduct efficient and effective meetings, and best practices for clear and compassionate communication. Leave with tools to handle problems that arise with kindness, clarity, and confidence.

 

Project Management Part 4: Maximizing (and then demonstrating!) Your Success (2 modules)

Project management skills and strategies are useful in all kinds of situations, not just formal projects. This last of four online courses in the Library Journal Project Management Certification will help you close, reflect on, and collect meaningful data from your projects. This course will teach you how to close your contracts, conduct performance reviews, and manage transitions. You will learn how to reflect on the lessons you learned alongside your team to build and maintain relationships and establish your desired processes for future projects. Leave with actionable ways to demonstrate your project’s impact and iterate for even more success in the future.
