About Our Courses
What types of courses do you offer?
We offer live online workshops and self-paced courses designed for school, public, and academic library workers at all levels.
Each course page clearly indicates whether the course is live or self-paced. Browse our online training courses for library staff.
Who are your courses designed for?
Are your courses accessible?
We strive to make our courses accessible to all learners. Course videos include captions, and materials are designed to be screen-reader compatible.
If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact course-support@libraryjournal.com prior to the course start date. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Are courses available for graduate credit?
Some courses are eligible for graduate-level credit through our partnership with Adams State University. Eligibility and credit details are listed on individual course pages.
Instructions for requesting graduate credit are provided within eligible course materials. If you have questions, contact course-support@libraryjournal.com.
Course Registration and Enrollment
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit cards for online purchases. Invoiced orders can be paid via ACH or check.
How do I request an invoice?
If your total order is $600 or more, you will see an option at checkout to request an invoice.
If your total order is under $600, please submit an invoice request form here: https://info.libraryjournal.com/online-course-invoice-request.
Invoice orders are processed manually. Course access is granted once the order is processed.
Invoices are issued outside of the course merchant system and are due upon receipt. Unpaid invoices will result in suspended course access and restrictions on future purchases until the balance is paid in full.
How do I purchase a course for someone else?
To purchase a course for another learner:
- Create or log into your own account using your information.
- At checkout, under Important Information, check the box:
“Are you buying this course on behalf of someone else?” - Complete your purchase.
After checkout:
- Go to My Account
- Select Manage Course Licenses
- Assign the course to the intended learner
The learner will then receive access to the course.
How do I purchase a course for multiple people?
When purchasing multiple seats, the system automatically processes the order as course licenses to be assigned.
After purchase:
- Go to My Account
- Select Manage Course Licenses
- Assign each seat to the appropriate learner
Group discounts are automatically applied at checkout when purchasing three or more seats for the same course.
How to Access Your Course and Login Help
How do I access my courses?
We’ll email you links and reminders, but once you have created an account, you can log in through the course website or go directly to the Learning Hub at https://learn.libraryjournal.com/. Any course you are currently enrolled in will appear on your dashboard.
How long do I have access to the course materials?
Unless otherwise stated, courses include 6 months of access. Courses with live components are available for 6 months from the first live session. For self-paced courses that have already opened, the 6-month access period begins when you enroll.
Can I request an extension?
We strongly encourage participants to complete their course by the published deadline.
If you need additional time, you may request an extension at least five business days before your access expires:
https://libraryjournal.fillout.com/course-extension-request
Extensions are reviewed case-by-case and are not guaranteed. Delayed access, course difficulty, or general scheduling or time-management issues are not valid grounds for an extension.
If approved, a $50 extension fee will apply. Payment must be received before continued access is granted.
Cancellation Policies
What if I change my mind about taking a course?
You may cancel your registration for a full refund as long as the request is submitted at least 3 full business days before the first live class or before course materials become available.
For course bundles or multi-course certifications, cancellation or transfer requests must be submitted at least 3 full business days before the first course begins.
Email course-support@libraryjournal.com with cancellation requests.
May I cancel due to a scheduling conflict?
Once course content is accessed, no refunds or transfers are allowed. You generally have 6 months of access to course materials, giving you flexibility to complete the course on your schedule.
What if one of my group members needs to cancel?
You may cancel a registration for a full refund as long as the request is submitted at least 3 full business days before the first live class or before course materials become available.
If the reduced group size no longer qualifies for the same discount, pricing for the remaining registrations will be adjusted and you will be billed for the difference.
Email course-support@libraryjournal.com with cancellation requests.
What if I need to cancel less than 3 business days before the course?
If you have passed the allowable period for a refund but have not accessed the course, you may:
- transfer your enrollment to another course of equal or lesser value, or pay the difference for a higher-priced course.
- transfer the registration to a different participant.
Email course-support@libraryjournal.com to request a transfer.
Group Training Options
Do you offer group discounts?
Yes. Groups purchasing multiple seats in the same course receive:
- 3–4 seats: 10% off
- 5–10 seats: 15% off
- 11–20 seats: 20% off
- 21+ seats: 25% off
Discounts are automatically applied at checkout based on the number of seats selected for the course.
I don’t see my group discount.
The discounted per-seat price is shown automatically once three or more seats for the same course are in your cart. You will see the discounted price rather than the original price.
If the expected rate is not showing, contact course-support@libraryjournal.com.
What other options do you have for teams?
In addition to group discounts for multiple seats in the same course, we offer flexible options for larger teams and organizations:
- Course Credit Packages: Purchase a bank of course credits up front and use them across different staff members and courses as training needs arise. View Course Credit Package details.
- Single-Course Licensing: Give your organization unlimited staff access to one licensed course for 12 months.
Learn more about our group training options.
If you’d like help choosing the right option, tell us about your team and training needs, and we’ll follow up with recommendations and pricing. You can also email groupsales@libraryjournal.com.
What are Course Credit Packages?
Course Credit Packages are designed for organizations that want flexibility to train different staff members in different courses over time.
You purchase a set number of credits up front and use them across eligible courses during the package term. Credit requirements vary by course, certification, bundle, or program.
View Course Credit Package details or request information for your organization.
What is Single-Course Licensing?
Single-Course Licensing gives the purchasing organization unlimited staff access to a licensed course during a 12-month license term.
It is a good fit when you want a large group or your full staff to complete the same training. Single-course licensing starts at $5,000 per course.
Tell us about your team and the course you’re interested in, or email groupsales@libraryjournal.com.
How do I assign seats to my team?
Once you’ve completed your purchase, go to your account dashboard and click “Manage Your Course Licenses” to assign each seat to a team member.
You can find more information on managing licenses here. This information is also linked on the page where you manage your licenses.

Course Credit Package Customers
How do I access the platform?
To use course credits online, you will need to be registered as a user. You can create an account during checkout, or our team can help create one for your organization’s designated contact.
How do I use my booking code?
Enter your organization’s booking code in the Promo Code field at checkout. The applicable course credits will be deducted from your available balance.
You may complete registrations yourself and assign the course seats through your account, or share the booking code with staff members so they can register themselves.
Can I share the booking code with my staff?
Yes. Staff members may use the booking code to register themselves for eligible courses.
Your organization is responsible for managing distribution and use of its booking code. Registrations made using the code will be deducted from your available credit balance.
How do I assign course seats to my team?
Once you’ve completed your purchase, go to your account dashboard and click “Manage Your Course Licenses” to assign each seat to a team member.
How do I know how many credits I have left?
We review package usage during the first week of each month and send the organization’s designated contact an updated balance reflecting activity from the previous month.
If you need a balance update between monthly reports, contact groupsales@libraryjournal.com.
What happens when all of our credits have been used?
We make reasonable efforts to disable booking codes once all available credits have been used. Because usage is reviewed periodically rather than in real time, registrations may occasionally exceed the available credit balance.
If that happens, we’ll contact you about the available options.
See the Course Credit Package Terms & Conditions for full details.
When do my credits expire?
Credits must be used for eligible courses that can begin on or before the expiration date listed in your agreement.
Participants do not need to finish their courses before the package expires. Once enrolled, they receive the full standard course access period.
Can course credits be combined with promo codes or other discounts?
No. Course credits may not be combined with other discounts, promotional codes, or special offers.
Where can I find the full Course Credit Package terms?
