COURSE CREDIT PACKAGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Purchase & Activation
- Purchase of a course credit package provides the organization named on the order with the number of course credits specified in the quote or agreement.
- Payment may be made by ACH or check. All pricing and invoices are issued in U.S. dollars.
- Full payment is generally required before activation unless alternative payment terms are approved in writing.
- The package term begins on the activation date agreed upon at purchase and ends on the same date of the next calendar year.
Credit Use & Expiration
- Credits must be used by the expiration date listed on the quote or agreement. Unused credits expire at the end of the package term and do not roll over unless otherwise approved in writing.
- Credits may be used only for courses available to begin on or before the package expiration date. Courses scheduled to begin after that date are not eligible, even if registration is already open.
- Participants do not need to complete their courses before the package expires. Once enrolled, participants receive the full standard course access period for that course.
- Credit requirements vary by course, certification, bundle, or program and will be identified in the current course credit schedule. For an updated schedule, contact groupsales@libraryjournal.com.
- Credits may be used across staff members, departments, and branches of the purchasing organization. For consortia, associations, or other multi-organization purchasers, credits may also be allocated among eligible member organizations.
- Bonus Lightning Learning seats, when included with a package, are separate from standard course credits and may be used only for eligible Lightning Learning courses.
Booking Codes & Usage
- The purchasing organization is responsible for managing distribution and use of its booking code. Eligible registrations made using the booking code will be deducted from the organization’s available credit balance.
- Library Journal and School Library Journal Professional Development will review package usage during the first week of each month and provide the organization’s designated contact with an updated balance reflecting activity from the previous month.
- We will make reasonable efforts to disable the booking code once all available credits have been used. Because usage is reviewed periodically rather than in real time, registrations may occasionally exceed the available credit balance before the code is disabled.
- If registrations exceed the available credit balance, the organization may:
- renew or purchase an additional course credit package and apply the excess registrations to the new package;
- pay separately for the registrations that exceed the available balance; or
- cancel registrations as needed to bring usage back within the available balance.
- If registrations must be canceled, registrations for courses that have not yet started will be canceled first. If additional cancellations are required, registrations for courses that have already started will be canceled beginning with the most recent registrations and working backward unless another agreed upon method has been discussed and agreed upon in writing.
Restrictions
- Course credits have no cash value and may not be redeemed for cash, refunds, or account credit.
- Course credits may not be combined with other discounts, promotional codes, or special offers unless specifically approved in writing.
- Credits may not be resold, sublicensed, or transferred to another organization except where allocation among eligible member organizations has been approved as part of a consortium, association, or other multi-organization purchase.
Course Availability
- Course availability, schedules, and formats may change during the package term. Availability of a specific course or session is not guaranteed unless otherwise stated in writing.
Refunds & Other Terms
- All course credit package purchases are final and nonrefundable.
- Individual course registrations remain subject to the standard Library Journal and School Library Journal Professional Development Terms and Conditions.
- Any different terms included in an approved written quote, order form, or agreement will take precedence over these standard terms.
