This course gives public library managers the coaching and mentoring skills to build teams that are engaged, capable, and genuinely glad to show up. ABOUT THIS COURSEThe best managers develop people and build relationships. Live & Self-Paced Course Materials Managing a library team is one thing. Building a team that thrives is something else entirely. In this course, public library managers and leaders will learn how to move beyond task management into genuine coaching and mentoring. We will focus on developing staff, building belonging, and creating a team culture where people do their best work. You'll explore practical approaches to onboarding and offboarding, learn how to tailor your coaching style to different team members, and build the skills to have the kinds of conversations that actually move people forward. This is a fully self-paced, asynchronous course, with a live kickoff on March 18, 2027, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm ET. You will have six months to move through the material.
