ABOUT THIS COURSENeuroinclusive programming is a better way to program for everyone. Live sessions via Zoom: One-size-fits-all programming leaves too many patrons on the outside looking in. In this course, you'll learn how to design public library programs that are genuinely inclusive of neurodivergent patrons, from the initial concept through delivery and evaluation. You'll explore neuroinclusive design principles and apply them to programming for adults and teens, building a practical toolkit you can use across your entire program calendar. Whether you're new to neuroinclusion or looking to deepen your practice, this course will change how you think about programming for neurodivergent patrons. COURSE FORMATThis will be a 2-hour online course and will include: Live sessions: Guest speaker presentations by leaders in their field. All sessions are recorded for on-demand access for six months after the course ends. Facilitated discussions: Audience participation in Q&A and discussion with guest speakers. Asynchronous workshop: On-demand project-based modules connecting what you’re learning to your professional practice. Includes peer-to-peer sharing via discussion forums. Online classroom: The virtual learning platform holds all course content and remains accessible for six months after the course ends. Note: The asynchronous work is designed to be completed over three weeks, but you will have six months of access to work at your own pace.
EXPECTED TIME COMMITMENTIf you attend or watch recordings of all live sessions and complete the 3-module workshop, you will spend approximately 9 hours on this course. You will earn 9 hours of professional development credit and a Library Journal certificate of completion.
